Get ready for a day dedicated to active fun and be a part of the City of Carlsbad Triathlon happening on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 8:00 in the morning onwards at the Tamarack State Beach.
The Carlsbad Triathlon is a sprint distance competition held annually on the second Sunday in July by the City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Department. It consists of a 1K swim, a 25K bike ride and a 5K run.
Dubbed as one of the world’s top five longest running triathlons, this race is open for people of all skill levels. The course begins at Tamarack Surf Beach, and follows the coastline of Carlsbad, past scenic beaches, lagoons, and a wildlife preserve.
Aside from the race, there will also be other attractions at the Expo that will take place from 6:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon. Some of the activities include a fun zone, unique relays, belly dancing, children’s zumba, water color painting, agility tests, and health seminars.
